Rachel’s collaboration experience spans 24 years, and she has held senior positions, including that of Director, in a variety of collaborative initiatives seeking fundamental change in the humanitarian and international development sectors. During this time, Rachel engaged with colleagues from government departments, UN agencies, NGOs, the Red Cross, media development organisations, national and local partners, research institutes and universities, and boutique private sector consultancies. Rachel is an Accredited Partnership Broker and Associate with both The Partnering Initiative and the Partnership Brokers Association.

Rachel’s core expertise lies in convening, shaping and brokering global networks, partnerships and consortia. This includes leadership of strategy review and development processes, including of appropriate governance arrangements, as well as developing bespoke and practical materials for the implementation of strategic partnership functions.

Since 2017, Rachel has worked as an independent consultant with a primary focus on facilitating greater understanding and implementation of effective multi-stakeholder partnerships. This has involved a move into training and capacity building, with an emphasis on equipping a variety of initiatives, from partnerships, networks and consortia to single organisations, with effective partnering skills. She’s also experienced in partnership capacity assessment processes, and in writing capacity assessment reports and improvement plans.

In 2018 Rachel co-authored the chapter ‘Follow the Leader? Leadership in a Collaborative Model’ for the book Shaping Sustainable Change: The Role of Partnership Brokering in Optimising Collaborative Action published by Greenleaf. In 2021, she was the co-author, alongside other TPI Associates, of Effective Consortia: A Guide to Emerging Thinking and Practice, published by The Partnering Initiative and the UK NGO umbrella Bond.
