Emma Gollub

Programme Director

Emma has 20 years’ experience designing and delivering multi-stakeholder programmes and cross-sector collaborations for knowledge-sharing and problem-solving across a breadth of environmental and social impacts.

Joining TPI in April 2026, Emma’s recent focus has been on the production, financing and consumption of globally traded commodities most associated with the conversion of natural ecosystems. As a member of Global Canopy’s leadership team, Emma engaged companies, financial institutions, policymakers, NGOs and funders to improve understanding of shared impacts and dependencies on biodiversity, climate and people.

Before this, Emma helped establish the world’s first online collaboration community for sustainable business practitioners – 2degrees – co-developing and delivering international supplier engagement and capacity-building programmes for multi-national consumer goods companies and thousands of their global suppliers. She also introduced an engagement initiative for textile brands to interact with water security research at the University of Oxford.

Early in her career, Emma’s focus was on collaborations for regional development – working for the UK’s FCDO and Department for Business & Trade to bring together universities, incubators, regional development agencies, business networks and funders to foster place-based enterprise partnerships.

Many of these collaborations and programmes have involved the development of data and content platforms, and Emma has worked closely with in-house product teams over many years to connect research, data, product development, content and engagement.

She has been fortunate to have lived in beautiful cities in the UK, France, Germany and Sweden. She is fluent in their languages and generally prone to geeking out about languages and linguistics if given half a chance. Emma can often be found running around in the countryside outside Oxford and is happy her teenage children appreciate her baking.
