The Case Study Toolbook

Case Study ToolbookThe Case Study Toolbook is designed to help individuals to create their own case studies more successfully.

The Case Study Toolbook aims to provide insights into the process of successful cross-sector partnering, create better case study collection and dissemination methods and deepen understanding of how case studies may be used more effectively as tools for change.

The starting point for the toolbook was to address the apparent discrepancy between the idea of case studies as valuable sources of information and inspiration and the reality that most case studies are either too academic or too superficial to add real value.

There is, of course, no definitive case study format so for this reason we do not include case studies per se in this publication. Rather, The Case Study Toolbook is designed to help individuals to create their own case studies more successfully.

The report is aimed at partnership practitioners worldwide, irrespective of their sector or their partnering role(s) or whether they are working on partnerships at an operational or a strategic level. Such individuals may be ‘internal’ or ‘external’ to the partnership being studied – we hope that this publication will be useful to both.
