Kathleen Elsig
Kathleen has 20+ years of international experience building multisector partnerships that solve complex challenges and generate new value for the partners and for society.
Kathleen has worked closely with multinational businesses, UN agencies, community-based groups, employer federations, and governments to design and deliver holistic interventions that result in positive change and shared value. Her work has led to measurable public health benefits, better government programming, stronger business accountability, more robust and diverse talent pipelines, increased digital equity, and more robust business-community relations. She led the development of partnerships in sustainable and safe transport with Daimler AG as part of the World Bank’s Business Partners for Development, oversaw the growth of multisector partnerships in Europe and Central Asia at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Society’s Global Road Safety Partnership, brokered multisector partnerships to support youth employment at the Global Apprenticeship Network, and today she leads global partnerships for the World Alliance of YMCAs including building capacity across the YMCA Movement in win-win partnerships. Kathleen has contributed to the development of TPI’s Partnering for Philanthropic Impact and diverse partnering training programmes.
Kathleen speaks French, German and Russian; is a Swiss and US national; and has experience working in Europe, Africa, Asia and Central Asia. She has a Masters Degree in European Political Affairs and she has studied widely in the areas of non-profit management, corporate sustainability and citizenship, learning and development, and philanthropy. She’s particularly passionate about supporting business, communities and people unlock new opportunities in the Future of Work through innovative skilling initiatives that access hidden talent pools and build inclusion, diversity and gender equality in the workplace.
