Sean de Cleene, Trustee

Sean de CleeneSean is a Member of the Executive Committee and Head of the Future of Food, World Economic Forum.

Sean was previously the Senior Vice President Global Initiatives, Strategy and Business Development for Yara International where he headed up the strategy group responsible for managing Yara’s global Creating Impact business development and sustainability agenda, which constitutes a key strategic pillar of the company.

In 2014 he undertook a four month secondment as a Special Advisor to the UN Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary General for Food Security and Nutrition to help develop a framework for strategic partnerships. Co-Chair Emeritus Grow Africa and remains on the executive steering committee and a co-chair of the finance working group. He was a former member of the Global Agenda Council on Climate Change and several G8 and G20 working groups and a former Harvard Kennedy School of Government CSR Initiative visiting practitioner. Jointly initiated a number of successful cross sector partnership platforms and initiatives including Grow Africa, African Green Revolution Forum, Beira Agricultural Growth Corridor, Southern Agricultural Growth Corridor of Tanzania, Malawi Agriculture Partnership, Business Action Against Corruption, UNEPFI Africa Taskforce, African Sustainable Investment Centre and the African Institute of Corporate Citizenship.
