Nyananso has spent most of the 14 years of his professional career working in partnerships, and his experience in partnership implementation cuts across the Private, Public, and Development sectors. His first stint in a partnership was in 2005, as a Business Unit Manager in a Public-Private-Partnership management contract for water supply services, where he focused on the business side of the relationship. He then spent over 3 years as the Nigeria Country Programme manager for Partners for Water and Sanitation, a UK partnership of private sector, Government and civil society organisations, focused on expertise support for human and institutional capacity development in the Water and Sanitation sector of developing countries, where he was involved in partnership development in Nigeria, Ethiopia, Tanzania, and the UK.
Recently, Nyananso worked with a Federal Government of Nigeria Regulatory Agency for Public Private Partnership (PPP) transaction and management, and was responsible for PPP contract management, involving contract renegotiations and dispute resolutions. Though an Engineer by profession, his experience in outcome based facilitation and contract management were useful in the management of PPP projects and project stakeholders. As an independent consultant, Gabriel worked on a number of Government and Civil Society partnership projects, including a European Union supported Water and Sanitation sector reform programme (Policy and Legal Reform, Institutional Reform, Financial Sustainability, Technical Capacity Assessment, Community Water Management, and Monitoring and Evaluation), working with Atkins and ITAD consultants for the delivery of the programme in Nigeria.
Nyananso has a Masters Degree in Water and Environmental Management from WEDC (Water, Engineering, and Development Centre), Loughborough University, and he is currently a Director at Weircapacity Limited, a management consultancy.
