In September 2015, the UN announced the Sustainable Development Goals. While specific targets and indicators are still being finalised, one aspect is clear: multi-stakeholder collaboration between business, NGOs, government, the UN and communities will be essential to achieve the goals and they will be needed at a scale and quality that dwarfs current levels of collaboration.
TPI’s Global Impact stream is dedicated to helping to drive that scale: to build understanding, develop the standards and the structures, and build the competencies that are required not only to scale up, but to mainstream collaboration as an essential mechanism to achieve business, societal and environmental prosperity. Working with a range of partners across all sectors of society, TPI has developed an holistic approach of integrated programmes and initiatives which aim to achieve the change required at five levels, from individuals to international policy.
Business Partnership Action is developing in-country platforms for partnership as part of the enabling infrastructure required to scale up public-private collaboration.
The TPI partnering ‘Roadmap’ sets out a systematic approach to engaging with business as a partner in development.
